About
EDD-24XT is a portable Non-Linear Junction Detector (NLJD) designed specifically for professional use in Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM).
The device detects the presence of semiconductor circuits used in all modern electronic devices, including mobile phones, tracking devices, eavesdropping bugs, hidden cameras, digital voice recorders, SIM cards, and more. Crucially, the EDD-24XT detects these devices regardless of whether they are powered on and transmitting, in standby mode, or completely switched off and unpowered.
Features & Advantages
- Universal Detection Capabilities: Detects any electronics—active, passive, or completely powered down.
- Telescopic Shaft: Comes equipped with an adjustable aluminum rod that extends from 30 cm to 140 cm for inspecting high-level and hard-to-reach areas.
- Adjustable Antenna Head: Features 5 fixed tilt angles within a 90-degree range.
- High Sensitivity: Capable of detecting even the most advanced NANO SIM cards at a distance of up to 20 cm.
- Material Probability Indicator: An intelligent algorithm analyzes signals to automatically assess whether the detected target is “Silicon” (semiconductor) or “Metal”.
- Audio Indication: Features tone signal alert and audio demodulation via the built-in speaker or headphones.
- Battery Life: The integrated Lithium-Polymer battery provides up to 4.5 hours of operating time on a single charge.
- Portability & Durability: Weighs less than 900 g, featuring a machined aluminum enclosure with a rugged plastic antenna cover.
Principle of Operation
Modern microelectronics rely heavily on silicon semiconductors. When high-frequency radio signals are directed at silicon, they generate a strong return signal at the second (2nd) harmonic. Other materials, such as oxidized metals or bi-metallic junctions, tend to respond at the third (3rd) harmonic.
The EDD-24XT transmits a focused, directional signal at 2.4 GHz (ISM Band Type B) and receives on frequencies of 4.8 GHz (second harmonic) and 7.2 GHz (third harmonic). The 3rd harmonic receiver serves as a critical verification tool, helping to filter out false or benign signals caused by rust and metallic structures.
