General features

Garrett SmartScan™ technology simplifies temperature screening. The seamless SmartScan insert into Garrett walk-through metal detectors allows for initial temperature measurement simultaneously with normal screening operations.

  • Ease of use.
  • No hassle.
  • No additional screening step is required for temperature measurement.

The SmartScan system will scan temperatures, provide a “Go” or “No Go” signal to the operator at specified intervals, and allow guests to pass through the detector without delay. This solution is offered as an add-on device for new Garrett PD 6500i or MZ 6100 walk-through metal detectors, or it can be easily integrated into already installed Garrett PD or MZ detectors. Simultaneous screening without long queues!

Features

  • Quick startup (a single button for power connection and start of operation).
  • Fast detection of incoming traffic.
  • Does not slow down existing screening processes.
  • No technical personnel is required to perform the initial temperature assessment, which reduces staff costs and minimizes the possibility of human error.
  • Absence of additional components that require more floor space.
  • On-site upgrade for any PD 6500i or MZ 6200 with simple connections.
  • The functions of the temperature sensor and the metal detector can be used independently or jointly during simultaneous operation.
  • Runs on battery for ease of use and optimal flexibility.
  • Intuitive status indicators for startup, calibration, and high-temperature alarm.
  • No additional space is required between multiple elements.
  • A Constant Temperature Reference (CTR) is not required for operation.
  • Visual and audible alarm options.
  • Avoids false alarms by intelligently blocking non-surface sources of high temperature that could mistakenly trigger an alarm.
  • Garrett’s Quick-Q™ exclusion technology for cell phones can be used jointly with SmartScan to further accelerate the screening process and promote contactless screening. (Compatible exclusively with the PD 6500i frame).
