What tasks does the PROTECT 1206i perform?
PROTECT 1206i is a detector for searching digital and analog transmitters of all types. It detects covert devices that transmit information via protocols: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, DECT, and GSM. It features a 16-segment histogram indicator. Three alert modes: audio, vibration, and mixed. The battery resource is sufficient for continuous operation up to 20 hours.
PROTECT 1206i uses an additional RF path with a high-sensitivity 2.44/5 GHz preselector for detecting Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signals. To detect and localize Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signals with higher sensitivity, PROTECT 1206i uses a separate channel with a pre-selection mechanism for high (2.4/5 GHz) frequencies. To identify the detected protocol, the device processes the demodulated signal.
Compared to the previous version, PROTECT 1206i received the following updates:
- New wideband antenna (for ANT1 jack) is required for broad coverage at low frequencies. It increases the detection distance of VHF/UHF covert devices by 2-3 times and maintains high sensitivity in high frequency bands (GSM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and others).
- New Micro-Pointer microwave antenna (for ANT1/ ANT2 jack). This antenna increases the detection distance of all sources above 2GHz (Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz, Wi-Fi 5 GHz, Bluetooth, Wi-Max, LTE High, and others) by 2-4 times. The antenna’s directionality ensures rapid detection of the wireless source and its location.
- Increased dynamic range. It is convenient to see the detection of weak and strong signals on the histogram. The indicator rises quickly for weak signals, and slowly for strong ones.
- The new attenuator improves the accuracy of determining the location of the covert device. If the attenuator is switched on near a powerful signal source, the illuminated histogram will drop and then increase, making more precise location determination possible.
